MADISON, Wis. (CIVIC MEDIA) – A spooky Halloween with the weather playing the biggest trick on us and slapping bone chilling wind chills on top of crashing temps.

After record high temperatures for both afternoon highs and overnight lows were blown out of the water on Tuesday and Wednesday… now the state battles vicious winds, heavy rain and even snow!

Halloween of 2024 has Winter Weather Advisories for Douglas, Bayfield, Ashland, Iron, Polk, Burnett, Washburn and Sawyer counties.

Meanwhile down south, A Wind Advisory is issued for winds sustained at 20mph and gusts nearing 45mph. Extending from Appleton, to the Dells, into Madison, Janesville and eastward to the lake, including Milwaukee.

This could cause some power outages, dead branches to break off and more importantly, chill the kids dressing up and walking the streets.

Statewide the feisty winds are slapping a spooky wind chill on top of crashing temperatures. During prime hours most people will be headed outside in search for the best candy, temperatures will range from the mid 30s north to the mid 40s south. Winds will knock that down 10 to 15 degrees, making it really feel more like the low 20s to low 30s. Bundle up, layer up and have a warm car nearby!

Most of the state is expected to bottom out below freezing on All Hallows Eve, with clearing skies and yes… calming winds.

So what’s next? A seasonal weekend ahead with some sunshine.

However, the next storm is lining up to strike Sunday, especially south. With another one following closely behind it bringing widespread rain Monday and potentially into Tuesday.

Don’t let the rain stop you from going to the polls.

Tuesday temperatures will be in the upper 40s to low 50s with rain easing up and winding down by the afternoon.
