
BEAVER DAM, Wis (CIVIC MEDIA) – 16-year-old Sophia Martha Franklin of Beaver Dam has been found safe, and her alleged abductor has been arrested, according to the Wisconsin Crime Network and a report from Channel 3000.
Sophia was found near Omaha following a tip of a possible sighting, according to a Beaver Dam Police Department press release.
The teenager was last seen at her home on February 2nd. An amber alert for her was issued on February 3rd. It was then extended to Arkansas and Missouri. Sophia was taken to a secure facility for re-unification with her family, according to the release. It will be the first time in about two months the Franklin family will be together.
Her abductor, 40-year-old Gary Day was last seen on February 3rd. He is believed to be the father of her unborn child. Day is charged with two counts of child enticement and two counts of abduction of a child. He faces a fine of up to a maximum of $100,000 and a maximum sentence of 25 years’ imprisonment. The cancelled Amber Alert and police press release say Day is in custody.
