Fond du Lac Man Arrested for Human Trafficking in Oshkosh
OSHKOSH, WI- (WISS) – Oshkosh Police arrested a 26-year-old Fond du Lac man Tuesday for charges related to human trafficking.
An undercover officer posed as a teenage girl with whom the suspect had previously engaged in sex acts. The officer communicated with the man via the victim’s social media accounts.
The man was arrested in the parking lot of a business when he attempted to meet the girl for sex. He faces charges of three counts of Soliciting a Child for Prostitution, and three counts of Human Trafficking of a Child. A search warrant was issued for the suspect’s residence in Fond du Lac County, where numerous electronic devices were seized.
In a press release, the OPD said, “The Oshkosh Police Department remains steadfast in our unwavering commitment in combatting human trafficking, and we continue to work diligently to investigate crimes of this nature, especially when these investigations involve juvenile victims.”
The suspect’s name has not been released.
