RICHLAND CENTER, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – On Tuesday, April 1, The Richland Area Retired Educators’ Association (RAREA) rewarded two of its chapter school districts, Ithaca and Weston, with its annual distribution of school supplies.

Representing RAREA were President Barry Roghair, Membership Marketing/Retirement Education Chair Paul Murphey and RAREA Secretary Louise Murphey. Representing the Ithaca school district was Business Manager Lori Pizer. Representing the Weston school district were District Administrator & Middle/High School Principal Molly Kasten and Elementary Principal/Dean of Students Jason Meyer.

Paul Murphey stated,

RAREA has a long-standing commitment, each December, to collect school supplies for an annual distribution to two of its designated PreK-12 districts, as one of our many yearly service projects. We rotate, on a yearly basis, these designated districts.

This year’s December 2024 collection was distributed during the Spring of 2025 semester to save money for districts, organizations, teachers, students, and parents because at this time of the year all district school supplies are starting to run low. Three large boxes were delivered to each district valued at $381.50 per district for a grand total collection, by RAREA, of $763.

This distribution was also a milestone event for Paul Murphey, as he completed his six-year term as RAREA President on January 1. His very first distribution was to Weston and Ithaca back in 2019.

New RAREA President Barry Roghair will continue this annual service project this year to give back to our communities.
