BLAIR-TAYLOR, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – The Ithaca Lady Bulldogs are headed to the state tournament, after a 10-4 softball win over Columbus Catholic in a game played at Blair-Taylor High School. Henry Bray provided audio play-by-play of the game on Facebook LIVE!

Jayden Boland collected three hits in three at bats, as Ithaca Varsity Bulldogs defeated Columbus Catholic 10-4 on Thursday. Jayden Boland singled in the second inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

A single by Akosua Yeboah put Columbus Catholic on the board in the top of the first.

In the bottom of the second inning, Ithaca Varsity Bulldogs went back into the lead after Maylee Pluemer doubled down the right field line, and Jayden Boland singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

Columbus Catholic took the lead in the top of the third inning after Shelby Spata tripled to right field, and Akosua Yeboah singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Kailey Newkirk singled to center field, which helped Ithaca Varsity Bulldogs tie the game at three in the bottom of the third.

Ithaca Varsity Bulldogs flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 8-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Jacey Maxwell that drove in two.

Arianna Louis pitched four innings in relief for Ithaca Varsity Bulldogs. The pitcher surrendered one hit and one run (zero earned) while, striking out one and walking one. Jacey Maxwell started in the circle for Ithaca Varsity Bulldogs. The starting pitcher gave up six hits and three runs over three innings, striking out five and walking four. Akosua Yeboah began the game for Columbus Catholic. The starting pitcher surrendered 11 hits and eight runs (seven earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out two and walking none.

Ithaca Varsity Bulldogs collected 14 hits in the game. Jacey Maxwell provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Ithaca Varsity Bulldogs with four runs batted in. The pitcher went 2-for-4 on the day. Emma Hilby and Kelsea Coleman each collected multiple hits for Ithaca Varsity Bulldogs.

Akosua Yeboah provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Columbus Catholic with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 2-for-4 on the day. Shelby Spata went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Columbus Catholic in hits. Callie Bell paced Columbus Catholic with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating five walks for the game.
