While cutting down a standing tree, a professional logger was injured when a different tree fell nearby and struck him in the head. This nearly spontaneous occurrence is just one of the many risks associated with the logging industry.
The injured man was transported to Vernon Health, in Viroqua, by La Farge Area Ambulance.
The logger was wearing a hard hat, likely reducing the extent of injury. Also at the scene with the Sheriff’s Office were the La Farge Fire Department and the Viola Fire Department.
