OK, so I realize the holiday season is not the ideal time to start a diet. Well, for me it’s not necessarily starting a diet but rather continuing one. I am the stereotypical yo-yo dieter. Back in 2013 I started to get healthy, changed my diet, started exercising, and changed my life. I am 6‘4“ tall and people say I carry my weight very well, but I once weighed 298 pounds and have spent the better part of 10+ years around 235 pounds. Somehow I have made my way up to just over 250 pounds, but that is about to change. Yesterday was my first day back on “the plan” as I call it. A protein shake (meal replacement shake as they call it) for breakfast, a salad for lunch, a second shake for a snack, and a supper consisting of a lean protein, and a vegetable. I know it doesn’t sound as exciting as burgers, french fries, ice cream and candy bars, but this diet has worked for me in the past, and I am willing to bet it can work again.
My goal is to lose at least 15 pounds by the time I go on winter vacation in the beginning of February. Wish me luck!
