This spring, I talked a lot about how I was going to keep my grass looking nice and perfect all season long. I don’t know why, but for some reason once the hottest months of the summer arrive, I stop caring for my lawn. Maybe those first few blades of crabgrass are enough to frustrate me beyond belief. Or maybe I’m just lazy. Whatever the case is, here we are at the end of September, and my lawn looks terrible. Crabgrass has seeded out and now lost its color. I didn’t water enough this summer, so the actual bluegrass that’s supposed to dominate my yard is now thin and brown.
I guess the only silver lining in this is the fact that I live in a rural area and most traffic will never see my lawn anyway. My neighbors don’t really care, so I guess I am my own toughest critic.
Well, there’s always next year.
